Lesson

I provide two basic approaches of lesson. One is for student who pursuits solely music enrichment, and the other is for student who targets music exam and competition. Both nurture and mature student's music appreciation. The underlying teaching principle applies to both approaches. I will provide my own evaluation for all students.

“From the heart – may it return to the heart!” – Ludwig van Beethoven
“Music Begins where the possibilities of language end.” – Jean Sibelius

Recitals

I encourage all students to perform. Recital is not only a great opportunity to perform in public, but also it is the real stage where student can learn things that will benefit them in lifetime. There are mainly three recitals each year.

ABRSM Exam

ABRSM is the most recognized music exam in the world. Over 600,000 students take ABRSM exam in more than 90 countries. There are mainly two parts: performance exam and theory exam. Learning piano is such a long jurney; ABRSM provides an oppotunity for  student to be evaluated objectively by levels of mastery on each learning stage.

Piano Competition

Most students and parents feel nervous when they hear about participating in a piano competition. Participating in competition is just an extension of learning piano. It is nothing to be frightened about. There are certainly more things to work on and student needs to spend more time. This experience will provide a significant learning progress if enough effort is made.

“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
“Inspiration is a guest that does not willingly visit the lazy.”                                 – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
